“A” 3 List
NON-BREED SPECIALISTS
These lists comprise of people who,
in the opinion of the committee of the West Of England Border
Collie Club, are fully competent to award Challenge Certificates
in the Breed
but have not yet been approved by
the Kennel Club for inclusion on an “A”2 List.
Criteria
1.
Must
have a minimum of 7 years judging experience (to include five
years in this Breed) prior to awarding Challenge Certificates
for the first time and have the support
of The
West Of England Border Collie Club.
2.
Must
have judged a Border Collie Breed Club Open Show
3.
To have
judged the breed at 10 Open Shows or Championship Shows without
CC’s with an adequate geographical spread
4.
Must
have judged a minimum of 40 classes in the Breed at Open Show
level prior to awarding Challenge Certificates for the first
time.
5.
Must
have judged a minimum of 200 Border Collies before awarding
Challenge Certificates for the first time.
6. To have
awarded CC’s in at least one other Breed.
7.
To have
attended at least one breed specific seminar run in accordance
with the relevant Kennel Club Code of Best Practice and passed
an examination and/or
assessment where applicable. (KC Policy as of 1.7.2001).
8.
To have
demonstrated successful showing experience and/or breeding
programme. Save in exceptional circumstances any first time
Candidate is expected to have been
an owner
or breeder of at least three dogs when they obtained their first
entry in the Stud Book
9. Must have
stewarded for a minimum period of 3 years and 12 shows either
Open or Championship level.(The names and dates to be listed on
the form).
10.
To have
attended at least one Border Collie Breed Club judging seminar
and have passed an assessment where applicable.
11.
To have
attended a seminar given by a Kennel Club Accredited Trainer,
and passed the relevant examination on Kennel Club Regulations
and Judging Procedures.

12. To have
attended a seminar given by a Kennel Club Accredited Trainer on
Conformation and Movement. (KC Policy as of 1.7.2001).
13. Must state
that they are prepared to write show critiques as customarily
requested by weekly dog press.
“B” List
NON-BREED
SPECIALISTS
1.
To have
5 years judging experience in any one breed and have the support
of the West of England Border Collie Cub
2.
To have
judged a minimum of 20 classes of Border Collies at Open Show
level
3.
To have
judged a minimum of 80 Border Collies at Open Show level
4.
To have
attended at least one breed specific judging seminar and passed
an assessment where applicable (Optional)
